My Story
So who am I really? Deep down, I am a rule follower. A very imperfect perfectionist. I have always believed that karma would reward me in life if I just do the “right” thing. I’m a person who tries to do her best, but has such high standards that she rarely lives up to them. Over the years I experienced a lot of shame for not living up to my own expectations. For me, it led to a bad relationship with food, emotional eating, and a history of yo-yo dieting as an adult.
What changed?
When I had just about resigned myself to the fact that weight would always be a struggle for me, under the guidance of a friend I began making some simple but significant lifestyle changes that made all the difference. I gradually changed my habits and the “diet mindset” I had grown up with. I wrapped my head around the concept that much of what I had believed and followed with regards to losing weight was misguided and outdated. I surrounded myself with a good support system and I figured out, in a healthy way, what worked for ME. No gimmicks, no special foods or shakes or expensive supplements, no counting calories, points, or macros. The excess weight came off, and stayed off.
Who am I now?
Truth be told I’m still the same person, but that’s fine because I like that person. I love that person. She is a good person - and now a happier, more confident person. I am thrilled to be able to share the knowledge I’ve gained through my education, training, and experience to help others.
